Abstract
This is a reflexion on the role of the IHGB and the Junta de História y Numismática Americana in the development of Spanish-American integrationist projects, initiated with the dialogs on the writings of History. In a joint action, both historical institutions promoted an intellectual exchange during the first decades of the XXth Century which led to official agreements, to congresses, to translations and publication of written materials thus contributing to the rupture of the internal isolation of the region. Those actions were initiated by Brazil and Argentina, but were soon to expand to other countries in Spanish America. They exemplify the strong political status reached by History, especially during this period that covered World Wars I and II.
Key Words: History writings; Intellectual Exchange; Integrationism.
