Resumo
A escrita de biografias não é mais, atualmente, um tabu para os historiadores, como foi em outros momentos. O crescente interesse por trajetórias individuais veio acompanhado de importantes desafios à historiografia. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar e discutir dois desses desafios. O primeiro deles refere-se ao caráter híbrido da narrativa biográfica, entre o real e o fictício. O segundo concentra-se em destrinchar algumas questões de natureza moral que são inerentes à narrativa biográfica, especialmente sua dimensão pedagógica e a ética específica do historiador.

Abstract
Currently, writing biographies is no longer a taboo for historians, the way it had2 been in the past. The growing interest for individual life trajectories was accompanied by important challenges to historiography. The purpose of this article is to present and to discuss two of those challenges. The first one refers to the hybrid character of the biographical narrative, between what is real and what is fiction. The second challenge is focused on unraveling a number of moral issues, inherent in the biographical narrative, especially its pedagogical dimension and the historian’s specific ethics.
