Abstract
Travelers travelling through the Amazon region left behind a significant number of texts, maps, photographs and ethnographic collections that have served as a source for historical reconstruction, and ethnographic and museographic analyses. However, not always is the destination of these travelers and their collections known, nor the destination of the natives that were then brought to Europe. This article seeks to shed some light on the journey of these travelers and the collections that crossed the border of Upper Rio NegroVaupés between Colombia and Brazil. We firstly provide insight into the context of the journeys and the difficulties encountered and, secondly, give information about the destination of the collections in America and Europe.
